Magadh Mahila College

Magadh Mahila College, established in 1946, is affiliated with Patna University and has been accredited B+ grade by NAAC. All the undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the institute have been recognized by Patna University. In order to take admission to undergraduate 3-year degree courses, candidates must have a minimum of 45% at the Intermediate Examination from a recognized board. Admission to the B.Com course is done on the basis of Merit-Based. For postgraduate courses, candidates are selected on the basis of entrance exams and interviews at Magadh Mahila College.

The institute started four 3- Months Certificate Courses and two 2- Months Certificate Courses in German and Computer application. Apart from this, a 6- Month Certificate Course in Japanese Language Proficiency was also started in the Academic Session 2019-20. The institute also provides Wi-Fi facilities and has a clean and green campus which attracts people to visit the institution.

The college was honored with the ‘Best College Award’ in 2014, by the Chief Minister of Bihar, and the ‘Excellent Institution of Higher Education For Girls in Bihar’ award in 2016.

Magadh Mahila College is the oldest college for women in Bihar. It was established in the year 1946. It is affiliated to Patna University. The college offers various UG and PG level degree and Diploma programs to eligible candidates in the disciplines of Arts, Science, Commerce, Management and Computer Applications.

Candidates who wish to be considered for more than one course in Magadh Mahila College should submit a separate application for each course.
Candidates must score a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying exam to be eligible to apply.
Only girl students are eligible to apply to the various programs offered by the institute.
Candidates who have qualified PUCET exam need to appear for the institute level entrance exam. Such candidates are selected on the basis of PUCET score.

Admissions in Under-Graduate course shall be made purely on the basis of merit list prepared after the written entrance test and admission will be closed once the seats are filled.
Request for admission will not be entertained without a duly submitted application form. No application for admission will be accepted after the notified last date.

College MA, M.Sc and PG Diploma Admission 2023

The college currently offers an MA program in Social Science along with an M.Sc program. Candidates seeking admission to PG Diploma programs can choose from PGDCA (Computer Applications), PGDW & CW (Women & Child Welfare) and PGDPE (Population Education).

The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the PG programs offered by the institute is a Bachelor’s degree in Arts/ Science/ Commerce/ Computer Applications or any other equivalent degree. Selection of candidates is done on the basis of Entrance Test marks and interview.

Candidates who have appeared in their final year exam and awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
Candidates who fail to secure a minimum of 50 percentile marks in the Entrance Test are not eligible for interview.

College Application Process 2023

Magadh Mahila College accepts applications from eligible candidates through offline mode only. All candidates are required to apply for the entrance test for further processing of their application. The process of application for admission is as follows:

Candidates may obtain the application form and prospectus from the college sales counter. In case the applicant seeks hostel facility, the application form for the same can also be obtained from the counter.
They must fill the application form with all the required details.
The application fee can be paid in cash while purchasing the application form and the prospectus.
Payment of application fee through cheque/ demand draft is also accepted by the institute. Applications that are mailed to the college must be sent along with a demand draft for the prescribed application fee.
Candidates must take the entrance exam on the prescribed date and venue in order to qualify for counselling.
The first (and subsequent) admission lists will be put up on the college notice board on the dates according to the Admission Schedule announced by the college. Candidates whose names make it to the merit list must report to the institute with all requisite documents.
Once the applicant’s candidature is confirmed, he/she will need to deposit the admission fee in order to complete the admission process. The admission fee can be paid by Allahabad Bank (branch in college campus) challan only.

Girls Hostel

The College has 4 Hostels within its campus to accommodate students who come from different parts of the state and country too. The Hostels provide accommodation to roundabout three hundred students across the semesters. All hostels have a separate dining hall, common room, and washroom area within the hostel. The rooms are furnished. The mess is operated four times a day, at breakfast, at lunch, at evening refreshments,s, and at dinner. Wi-Fi facility is also available in the hostel. Laundry services are separately provided within the campus for residents. In addition, the hostel also provides a washing machine for self-washing by residents.

Sports

The College as Sports Ground is situated in the North East area of the College beside the holy river Ganga. The total area of the sports ground is approx 41628 sqft. There are several sports activities that take place every academic year. Cricket Pitch is available at the South-East corner of the ground. Basket Ball Court is situated separately from the sports ground in front of the Main Building beside the portico.
Alumni Associations

The College has registered an active and vibrant Alumnae Association which was established on 15th February 2004. The association has been given a scholar name- ‘Manishika’. The association under the leadership of the Patron, President, and its own elected Alumnae Board.
Cafeteria

The College Cafeteria is a popular meeting place for students. It serves a variety of eatables at moderate prices. A fully air-conditioned cafeteria with elegant tables and plastic chairs adds comfort while enjoying an array of savory food. The College operates one fully air-conditioned cafeteria having a seating capacity of fifty students.
Auditorium

The auditorium has a seating capacity of about 500 students. It has an advanced light and sound system that is managed by specially designated support staff along with the students. It is equipped with a large stage, two green rooms, comfortable seating, carpeting, wall paneling for acoustic effects.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
Gym

The College maintains its own fitness center. possessing equipment for free weight exercises, bodyweight exercises, gym ball exercises / Swiss ball exercises, resistance band exercises, resistance machine exercises, and stretching exercises.
I.T Infrastructure

The College has three states of the art Computer Centres. All the computers in the centers are provided with the latest updated software and hardware. Internet, printing, and scanning facilities are also available through the network. Further, each center is equipped with uninterrupted power backup.
The teaching of information technology and computer-based papers is carried out through LCD screens in the Computer Centres. In addition, the Centres are also available for the students for accessing internet, practice and for preparation of their projects.

The college has a departmental-based laboratories facility for the students.
