King George’s Medical University

King George’s Medical University is ranked 7th under the Medical category by India Today 2023, 12th by NIRF 2023 under the Medical category, and 77th by NIRF 2023 under the Overall category. KGMU Lucknow was established in 1905 and is accredited with A Grade by NAAC. The university is approved by UGC, DCI, and MCI. KGMU’s Gandhi Memorial and various associated hospitals have over 4,500 functional beds. King George Medical College Lucknow, through more than 60 departments and various colleges, offers UG, PG, and various other courses to students. These courses are provided across the Biochemistry, Cardiology, and various other streams.

Courses & Fees

King Georges Medical University Lucknow provides admissions to diplomas, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. For admission into the King Georges Medical University Lucknow diploma courses, candidates need to appear for the qualifying examination and secure a merit score in it. For MBBS and BDS admission to KGMU Lucknow, an NEET UG score is required.

KGMU Lucknow MBBS/ BDS admission is done based on the NEET scores. KGMU B.Sc Nursing course requires scores of CNET for admission. Whereas, admission into the King Georges Medical University Lucknow MD/ MS is done based on NEET PG scores.

King George’s Medical University has not released the 2023 placement details. However, the NIRF report 2023 has been released. According to the report, 353 PG Medical students were placed during KGMU placements 2022. The median package offered to PG (2-year) and PG (3-year) Medical students during King George’s Medical University placements 2022 was INR 8.40 LPA and INR 13 LPA, respectively.
