Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (popularly known as IIM Trichy) was established in 2011 and is located in Tamil Nadu. Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (IIMT) is the eleventh IIM and is sprawling over an area of 175 acres of land.

IIM Trichy Courses 2023
IIM Trichy courses 2023 include five courses namely a post-graduate programme in management, a post-graduate programme in management human resources, a doctoral programme in management, an executive doctoral programme in management, and a post-graduate programme in business management. PGPM Course
Post Graduate Management Programme or PGPM is a full-time programme with a duration of two years. It is the flagship programme of IIM Tiruchirappalli. In the first year of the PGPM programme, the students are taught core courses. The programme provides the option of choosing electives from a pool of specialised courses in the second year. In the end, The IIM Trichy PGPM students are provided internship assignments in an organization and they also undertake the ‘Make a Difference’ team project as part of the IIM Trichy curriculum.

The two-year full-time post-graduate programme in human resources was launched by IIM Tiruchirappalli in 2020 with an intake of 30 students. The programme offers an overall credit structure of 99 credits which is extendable to 105. The IIM Trichy PGPM HR courses include:

Doctoral Programme in Management
The IIM Trichy DPM programme is a full-time doctoral programme in management offered in specialisation of economics & public policy, finance and accounting, information systems and analytics, marketing, operations management and decision sciences, organisational behaviour and human resource management and strategy.
Doctoral Programme in Management
The IIM Trichy executive doctoral programme in management is of four years duration. Also, the maximum duration by which a student can complete the programme is five years. The programme has a total of 36 credits. Students have to complete a total of 18 credits in the first year and the remaining 18 credits in the second year. The EDPM programme involves eight campus visits with each campus visit of five days. The EDPM programme is broadly divided into five stages:
- First-year coursework (Term I – II)
- Second-year coursework (Term III – IV)
- Comprehensive qualifying examination (CQE)
- Submission and defense of research proposal
- Final submission and defense of dissertation

Fees Payment Guidelines
Students can pay the IIM Trichy course fees by using any of the methods mentioned below.
- Online payment interface: Visit the website to register and pay.
- Cash: Visit the respective college campus to pay the IIM Trichy fees in cash.
IIM Trichy admissions are conducted as per CAP. The shortlisted students are required to appear for PI. WAT was excluded from CAP due to the COVID-19 outbreak. IIM Trichy Selection Criteria considers CAT and PI as dominant parameters for final selection and assigns a weightage of 50% and 25%, respectively. Other parameters included in PGPM Admission are Verbal Comprehension (CAT), work experience, performance in the qualifying degree and gender diversity.
IIM Trichy also offers PGPBM (Chennai Campus), DPM and EDPM programs. Selection for PGPBM and EDPM is based on the Written Test and PI. Whereas, DPM Admission is based on entrance exams such as CAT/GMAT/GATE/GRE/UGC-JRF/IIMB Test followed by area-specific Interview and PI with DPM Committee.
PGPM / PGPM-HR Admission 2024
Candidates who have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline are eligible to apply for the PGPM / PGPM-HR program at IIM Trichy. The admission process includes the following stages:

IIM Trichy selects the candidates for its PGPM / PGPM-HR program based on the candidate’s performance in CAT, performance in PI, Educational background, Gender Diversity, and quality of Work Experience. The selection criteria for PGPM and PGPM-HR admissions are explained in the sections below:
PGPM / PGPM-HR Selection Criteria: Shortlisting for PI
IIM Trichy will shortlist the candidates for the personal interview based on their CAT percentile. The candidates scoring above the minimum cut-off percentile will be shortlisted for the personal interview. The table below indicated the CAT cut-off.

After the interview has been conducted, the composite score of each candidate will be calculated and the merit list will be prepared based on the composite score. PGPBM Selection Criteria
- The eligible candidates will have to take the written test if they have not appeared for CAT or GMAT. The written test will evaluate the candidate on their quantitative ability, verbal ability, data interpretation, and logical reasoning skills.
- The candidates will be then shortlisted for the personal interview based on their performance in the written test or their CAT/ GMAT scores.
- The final selection will be done based on the factors like test scores, PI scores, work experience, and performance at the undergraduate level. The weightage of all these factors is mentioned below:

PGPBM Admission: How to Apply?
Interested candidates can apply for the PGPBM program on the IIM Trichy website and pay a non-refundable fee of INR 2,000 for the general category and INR 1,000 for SC/ ST/ DAP students.
DPM Admission 2024
The candidates who fulfill the following eligibility criteria are eligible to apply for the IIM Trichy DPM program.
Education:
- Master’s degree/ Postgraduate diploma/ Integrated Master’s degree/ 4-year Bachelor’s degree with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks (OR)
- Bachelor’s degree with 60% marks and a professional qualification (CA/ ICWA/ CS) with at least 50% marks
Qualifying Exam:
- The candidates should have appeared for the CAT/ GMAT/Â GRE/ UGC-JRF/ IIMB exam taken in the last 2 years.
- Candidates with a PGDM from any of the IIMs or PGPBM from IIM Trichy are exempted from taking the above-mentioned tests.

DPM Selection Criteria
IIM Trichy selects the candidates for its DPM program based on 3 stage process that has been explained in the sections below:
DPM Selection Criteria: Stage 1
The candidates will be shortlisted in stage 1, based on their application i.e, the eligibility criteria and the information provided by the candidates.
DPM Selection Criteria: Stage 2
Stage 2 will have a Research Aptitude Examination and an Area Interview. The candidates may have to appear for both or can appear for any one of them, depending on the area they have chosen.
- The Research Aptitude Examination: The examination is conducted to test the candidate’s research aptitude in a particular area of specialization. The examination will have questions based on the specific area that the candidate has applied for.
- Area Interview: All the shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the area interview with the members/ experts in their chosen area of specialization.
DPM Selection Criteria: Stage 3
The candidates who were shortlisted in stage 2 will have to appear for another interview with the Doctoral Program and Research Committee. The candidates who will clear this stage will be sent an offer of admission to the DPM program at IIM Trichy.
IIM Trichy DPM Admission: How to Apply?
- Interested candidates can apply online for the PhD program.
- They can apply for a maximum of 2 areas of specialization.
- The application fee is INR 1,000 and no application fee is charged for the SC/ ST/ PwD candidates.
- The candidates appearing for IIMB Test will have to pay an additional fee of INR 1,000.

The candidates who have exposure to management education through graduation or postgraduate and have passed them with First class, have a minimum of 10 years of work experience, and are currently working as a full-time executive are eligible to apply for the EDPM program at IIM Trichy.

The IIM Tiruchirappalli campus covers an area of 172 acres. The institute attempts to deliver the best IIM Trichy amenities to its students. The IIM Tiruchirappalli facilities include separate boys and girls hostels, library, cafeteria, sports facilities and others. The campus consists of a Learning Resource Centre, which provides a number of books, e-resources, online databases and more. Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli has a placement cell to manage the entire placement process of the institute. IIM Tiruchirappalli placement cell has helped students in successful final placements and summer internships for the academic year 2022-23 for the Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM) and Post Graduate Program in Management – Human Resources (PGPM-HR).
The institute achieved 99% placements during IIM Tiruchirappalli placements in 2023  with the participation of 172 industry associations. There has been a 49% increase in the number of PPOs offered to students of IIM Tiruchirappalli. As per the official website of the institute, During IIM Tiruchirappalli placements, highest package and average package for PGPM were Rs 41.61 lakhs per annum and Rs 20.55 lakhs per annum respectively.
