Scholarships Policy of SGT University for Academic Session 2019-20

The scholarship in the form of Tuition Fee Concession will be awarded to the meritorious students at the time of admission and subsequent years for students admitted in Academic Session 2019-20.

At the time of Admission

UG Courses

The scholarship will be admissible to students of UG courses (except Medical, Dental and Ayurveda) on the basis of marks obtained as under :

(a) PCB/M/CS with English as one of the subject OR

(b) Best of four subjects with English as one of the subject.

For calculating percentage for scholarship, the subsidiary subjects i.e. Drawing, Music, Physical Education etc. will not be considered:

  • The scholarship for the student of lateral entry will also be admissible as per the above criteria.  To ascertain their eligibility, the aggregate marks will be considered.
  • 5% extra scholarship in the form of Tuition Fee Concession (10% for Law programs) will be awarded to the Girl candidates who will be admitted in Non-medical courses (including Behavioural Sciences), over and above the % mentioned at (b) and (c) above.
  • Further, the Girls candidates seeking admission in the Law programs and not covered in the scholarship slabs, will be awarded flat 10% scholarship in the form of tuition fee concession.

PG Courses

For PG Courses, the scholarship will be given in the Faculties of Commerce & Management, Behavioural Sciences, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Allied Health Sciences, Mass Communication & Media Technology, Education, Law, Hotel & Tourism Management, Fashion & Design, Agricultural Sciences and Medicine & Health Sciences (M. Sc., MPHW & MSW) on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in UG course :

  • 5% extra scholarship in the form of Tuition Fee Concession, over and above the % mentioned above will be awarded to the students who have completed their qualifying examination from SGT University required for admission to Postgraduate programs (Including Post Basic Nursing and B. Pharm.).
  • Further to encourage the students of SGT University who are graduating to get admitted in the Postgraduate programs and not falling in the criteria of scholarship as mentioned above and secured marks 50% and above but less than 60%, will be granted 20% scholarship in the form of Tuition Fee concession.
  • The scholarship will not be applicable for the Ph. D. scholars.  However, if the Ph. D. scholars join the University as regular scholar (One in each department) and assist the teaching staff in their academic and laboratory work will be paid Rs. 10000/- per month as stipend.

Relatives of the University’s Staff

The scholarship in the form of Tuition fee concession will be awarded to the relatives of the University’s employees (blood relations only i.e. Son, Daughter, Husband, Wife) for the students admitted during Academic Session 2019-20 as given below :

Sibling

For sibling cases (one out of two), 35% scholarship or as per the slab mentioned above (whichever is higher) in the form of Tuition Fee Concession will be awarded in all the courses (ug/pg) except Medical, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy and Ayurveda.  For continuation in subsequent years, he/she has to fulfill the conditions mentioned for other students.

Subsequent Years

The 25% scholarship in the form of Tuition Fee Concession in subsequent years shall be based on the students’ performance in the semesters/annual examinations as the case may be and the same will be paid in the name of the student (Except Medical, Dental and Ayurveda).

For continuation of scholarship in subsequent years, the student shall have to meet the following conditions:

(a)       He/she should have passed in all the subjects in first attempt itself.

(b)       Should have scored 75% or above marks in aggregate.

(c)        Should have 90% or more attendance in all subjects of the course including practical (wherever applicable).

(d)       Student is not involved in any act of indiscipline, ragging, eve-teasing etc.

(e)       Should have cleared all the dues and paid the whole fee of the course for the particular semester/year.

(f)        Should not be receiving any other scholarship from any other Govt./Govt. organization/Institute.

(g)       Student must submit the Scholar Project in consultation with their respective Dean/Faculty member to claim the scholarship for subsequent years.

Note : The students will have to apply within one month of the declaration of their result.

The above scholarship in the form of Tuition Fee Concession policy may be submitted to the Vice-Chancellor for approval in anticipation of the approval of Fee Committee, Finance Committee, Board of Management and Governing Body.
