IIHM (International Institute of Hotel Management)
IIHM (International Institute of Hotel Management) is the largest chain of premier hospitality and hotel management schools across India that started its journey in 1994 in Kolkata. IIHM Delhi offers degree and diploma programs in the discipline of Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Operations, etc. IIHM Courses of Skilling are approved/ accredited and supported by National Skill Development Council ( NSDC), through group company Smart Edusol Services Private Limited, MAKAUT University, AICTE, State Board of Technical Education & Training – Telangana, Directorate of Technical Education, Goa.
IIHM is the Founding Institutional member of the (IHC) International Hospitality Council, London. The institute offers an option to complete BA (Hospitality Management) from the University of West London, UK (London). Degree for Bachelor in Tourism Studies is awarded from IGNOU, India and students also have an option of undergoing short courses of 3 months to 1 year in various Hospitality Skills. Apart from this, IIHM students also have the option of completing their final year in the UK, Switzerland, Germany or Canada, after completing and performing well in the first two years in India.
IIHM has a pool of Global faculty in the hospitality and culinary fields headed by Prof David Foskett(OBE) Author of The World famous “Practical Cookery & Theory of Hospitality and Catering”, Keith Edgar, a famous Wine Educator from the USA, and of International repute, award-winning wine consultant and author, Peter Honigh (MW), Mr. Ron Scott, a renowned whiskey expert from Scotland and Chef Ranveer Brar esteemed international faculty members of the institute. Legendary Prof David Foskett is the Professor of Eminence at IIHM.
International Institute of Hotel Management inaugrated the “IIHM Global Center for Tourism and Hospitality Research” to conduct research on relevant topics with the aim of enhancing business opportunities. The center was inaugurated by Hon’ble Secretary-General of UNWTO Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili. IIHM has committed to support the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and has embraced SDG Goal 2, which aims to eradicate hunger completely.
IIHM received the “Best Hospitality Education Brand” for 6 years in a row from 2017 to 2020, 2022 and 2023. The institute was awarded “Best Hospitality Education Brand 2020”, “Best Hospitality Education Brand 2022” and “Most Valuable Hospitality Education Brand 2023” by Zee Education Excellence Award. It also featured in Forbes India as “Great Indian Institute to study” in 2018-19 & 2019 – 2020. IIHM was awarded “Top Hotel Management Institute” by Competition Success Review consecutively from 2012 onwards. IIHM was awarded for having Best Placement Team by Assocham and also featured in World’s Greatest Brands 2015 – 2016 and 2016 – 2017 Reviewed by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
IIHM hosts the unique Culinary Olympiad known as the Young Chef Olympiad, which has gained worldwide recognition. Culinary students from nearly 60 countries come together to showcase their skills to win the title of the Best Young Chef in the World. IIHM is the only hospitality institute in India that has received approval and funding from the European Union for active engagement in the ERASMUS project. The project involves conducting research across various hospitality sectors aimed at minimizing food wastage within the European Union’s industry. IIHM has an incredible Entrepreneurship cell called ‘SAHAS‘ for supporting the students to start their own businesses and start-ups. The SAHAS Global Advisory Board boasts esteemed members like Chef Chris Galvin, Michelin Chef and co-owner of Galvin restaurants in the UK, Prof David Foskett (MBE) the Chairman of the International Hospitality Council, Chef Enzo Oliveri, Celebrity Chef of Italy, Chef Gary MacLean -The National Chef of Scotland among others. This Entrepreneurship cell under the leadership of Dr. Suborno Bose was initiated with INR 1 Crore and now has kept INR 25 Crores aside to assist students in opening up their own businesses. IIHM became the first institute of Hospitality in India to successfully organize a Hackathon to initiate, promote and foster incubation of business ideas amongst hospitality students.
Admission to IIHM Delhi is done on the basis of e-Chat exam conducted by the institute followed by GDPI. The institute provides placement support to its final-year students. The students passing out are armed with an international degree from the University of West London and are equipped with global hospitality skills that enable easy placements in any hospitality brand across the world. The highest domestic package is recorded at INR 5 LPA and the highest international package is recorded at USD 7200. IIHM has campuses in Kolkata, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Goa, Bangkok and Samarkand in Uzbekistan.
The curriculum includes major subjects like Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage Service, Food & Beverage Production, and Entrepreneurship. IIHM has initiated a ‘Global Connect’ program, with MoUs signed with nearly 70 institutes in the world for Study Abroad Program, Faculty Exchange Program, collaboration in research projects, and collaboration for internships. Faculties form these 70 countries under the exchange program fly to India to teach students about the International Cuisines. IUBH International University Germany, Niagara College Canada, Albert De Mun Hotel and Catering School France, Business and Hotel Management School – BHMS Switzerland are amongst the institutes with which MoUs have been signed.
