Rathnavel Subramaniam College of Arts and Science was established in 1986 and has grown to be one of the biggest self financing institutes. It is affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and was accorded autonomous status in 2004 by UGC and re-accredited in 2014 with ‘A’ Grade. It has been ranked as the fourth best college in Coimbatore.

The College offers Bachelors, Masters and Research programs in various streams like Computer Science, Electronics, Management, Commerce, English Literature, Mathematics and Life Sciences and keeps on adding more career oriented courses.

Spread over an area of 14.24 Acres, the college campus is equipped with all the modern facilities and great infrastructure. The college has an enrollment of around 4800 students. RVSCAS Coimbatore fees range from Rs 14000 to Rs 48000 per year, depending on the degree level, duration and specialization of the course. The college offers 66 courses at Certificate, Diploma, PG and UG programmes. Furthermore, RVSCAS Coimbatore offers 12 courses in BSc, 6 courses in BA at the UG level. At the PG level, the students can choose a wide range of specializations – 12 courses in MSc, 11 course in M.Phil. Admission to RVSCAS Coimbatore courses are open for the academic year 2024-25. For admission the college conducts CBSE 12th. In addition to this, scores of Tamilnadu 12th, TANCET are accepted by RVSCAS Coimbatore.

Undergraduate admissions are direct based on merit of class 12 examination subject to availability of seats.
Candidates desirous of pursuing post graduation can apply on merit of qualifying degree or scores obtained in entrance test (in case of MBA and MCA).

College PG Admission 2024

The college also offers a number of traditional and professional degree courses at postgraduate level. Admissions are direct for M.A, M.Sc, M.Com and MSW and based on merit of qualifying degree.

MBA and MCA admissions are conducted on the basis of tests scores of national and state level entrance examinations. All the courses are of two-year expect for MCA which is a three-year course. Lateral Entry admissions are also offered in second year of MCA on the basis of TANCET scores.

Key Points for Admission:

As per the eligibility criteria for TANCET, there is 5% relaxation for reserved category candidates.
Candidates applying under management quota for MBA and MCA program must seek admission through Tamil Nadu Self Financing Consortium common entrance test.

College M.Phil and Ph.D Admission 2024

RVSCAS offers degrees of M.Phil and Ph.D in different specializations at research level. Interested candidates can choose between full-time and part-time mode of study. Admissions are conducted by Bharathiar University through merit of qualifying degree, post graduate common entrance test (CET) and interview.

Candidate should have passed PG degree course under SSLC+HSC+UG+PG pattern with minimum 55% marks in the qualifying examination for admission in both M.Phil and Ph.D.

Key Points:

Relaxation of 5% is given to SC/ST candidates.
M.Phil holders are exempted from taking the written test for Ph.D. but are required to appear in interview.
Also, UGC/CSIR-JRF NET/SLET/GATE/ Teacher fellowship holders / Scientist working in DRDO / faculty of Air Force Administrative College/foreign candidates are exempted from entrance test.

M.Phil and Ph.D: Application forms are available on the Bharathiar University official website. Candidates need to follow the given steps for successful registration for the program.

Cost of application for M.Phil. is INR 500 and Ph.D. is INR 600.
The application fees can be paid in the form of DD from any Nationalized Bank/Challan (Bank of India) to be drawn in favor of “The Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore”.
One copy of application form along with original DD/Challan (without any documents) must be sent to “The Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-46”.
Second Copy with all attested copies of certificates has to be sent to the Principal of RVS College of Arts and Science within the given time period.

There is a fully equipped “Multi-gymnasium” functioning in the college for the students and staff members to utilize for building up their physique.. There is a spacious, adequately large, exquisitely designed Auditorium fondly named after Dr.Abdul Kalam, former President of India. This auditorium can comfortably accommodate more than 750 students. It serves for conducting programmes such as Graduation Day Ceremony, Student Union functions, Orientation Course Tutorials, Special address by VIPs, College Annual day function, Literature oriented meetings, Cultural programmes etc. The dais is equipped with sophisticated audio facilities. The auditorium is also made use of by the authorities of the District administration for purposes such as coaching trainees on special occasions to transact Govt. assignments.
