The education system:Â Apart from the set curricula, the students are given extra training for introducing them with the history, legal and other aspects of media and with the vital political, economical, environmental and social issues of the trend so as to give a firm base for their further studies.
Dissertation:Â After the theoretical and practical knowledge given to the students, they have to do a dissertation project that requires extensive research and certain field work that helps them to collect practical knowledge to be used in the future.

Asian College of Journalism Admission Process
After a careful evaluation of applications, shortlisted candidates are required to take an online entrance examination (ACJ entrance exam). The examination is delivered online in real time and consists of two parts:
(a) The applicant’s English language skills and facility
(b) The awareness of current affairs and general knowledge.
The exam will also test the candidates’ writing ability and assess their analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Applicants shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination will be invited for an interview for further assessment and final selection.

The ACJ offers scholarships on a merit-cum-means basis to students seeking and qualifying for them. Please indicate clearly in your application if you require scholarships. The full and partial scholarships cover tuition fees and, in special cases, living expenses. Please submit proof of family income as stated in the application form.
Candidates applying for SC/ST scholarships should produce community certificate and proof of annual family income as stated in the application form.
The South Asia Foundation (SAF) offers scholarships for study at the ACJ to students from the eight SAARC countries: Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Indian SAF scholarship will be decided by the Admission Committee.
Founded by UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Madanjeet Singh in 2000, the South Asia Foundation (SAF) is a secular, non-profit and non-political organization. Its core objective is to promote regional cooperation through a number of UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institutions of Excellence in the eight SAARC countries. ACJ is one of these institutions of excellence.
The SAF-Madanjeet Singh scholarship for the one year postgraduate course at the Asian College of Journalism covers eight countries, viz: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The scholarship covers: (a) tuition fees, (b) economy air travel from the scholar’s place of residence within SAARC to Chennai and back, (c) accommodation costs, on a room sharing basis, for the duration of the course in Chennai from July 2017 to May 10, 2018, (d) food expenses covering breakfast, lunch and dinner at the ACJ canteen, (e) a nominal amount towards pocket expenses.
Candidates should have cleared an undergraduate course in any discipline. Equivalent course in different SAARC countries would also be considered on a case by case basis. They must be proficient in English since all instruction and assignments at ACJ are in English.
