Miranda House College

Miranda House Delhi is a women’s college established in 1948. As per the NIRF 2023 ranking, the college ranked 1st under the degree colleges category. Miranda House has been awarded “A++” grade in the second cycle grading by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Miranda House is affiliated with the University of Delhi, Delhi. Miranda House Delhi courses are offered at UG and PG level in full-time mode. Miranda House UG courses include B.A., B.A. (Hons.), B.Sc., B.Sc (Hons.), B.El.Ed. while Miranda House PG courses include MA and M.Sc. Miranda House admissions to UG programmes are through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by the NTA. Miranda House PG admissions are done through valid CUET-PG scores from the academic year 2023-2024. Seats will be allotted based on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). As per the NIRF 2023 report, Miranda House median salary package for the UG 3-year programme stood at Rs 6,00,000 and for the UG-4-year programmes, the median salary package offered is Rs 5,00,000. Admission

Miranda House Admissions 2024 is based on Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by NTA for all UG and PG programs. Candidates are required to appear for the CUET UG exam for admission to the UG program and for the PG program, applicants are required to appear for the CUET PG exam.

Once the CUET result is out, Candidates qualifying for all UG and PG programs will have to register themselves on Delhi University’s Admission Portal – admission.uod.ac.in. Further, they will be required to fill in their preferred program and college. For UG admissions, qualifying candidates from the CUET UG exam, are required to register themselves on Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) and seat allocation will be done through the CSAS portal.

For PG admission, 50% of the seats have been allocated to candidates with bachelor’s degrees from Delhi University based on merit in their qualifying examinations. Students who qualify for the CUET PG exam will fill the remaining half of the seats.

Miranda House also reserves 50% of its total seats for students from the SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD categories.

Miranda House Cut Off 2023 – The Miranda House College has released the Miranda House second cut Off for 2023 on August 10 in online mode. Scholarship

Miranda House offers scholarships as financial assistance and fee concession, whether fresh or on renewal is granted to the students who apply/will apply for it on a prescribed application form by the dates announced by the college. Miranda House being a part of DU, has made provisions for several scholarship programmes for meritorious and financially underprivileged students.

Shrimati Kesra Bai Luthra Memorial Scholarship	One to a deserving and needy student who, upon graduating from Delhi Central Board with at least a high second division, is enrolling in the first year of a discipline course in botany or zoology (INR 100 per month).
Dr. Shrimati V. Hora Endowment Scholarship	One to a student who passed out from Delhi Central Board with a first division and joins Discipline Course in Zoology and needs financial assistance to pursue her studies (Rs. 100 per month).
University of Delhi Women’s Association Scholarship	Awarded to two deserving and needy students (who are daughters of jawans) who have passed from Delhi Central Board and joined the first year (Rs. 100 per month each).
Shri Uggersain Memorial Endowment Scholarship	Given to a candidate whose parent’s monthly income does not surpass INR 1,000 and who enters the first year of study after graduating from Delhi Central Board with a first division.
Dr. V.K.R.V. Rao Endowment Scholarship	To a deserving and needy student coming from a family of class IV or III employees of the University who after passing out from Delhi Central Board has joined the first year (INR 65 per month).
Ganga Sant Scholarship	To a deserving student requiring financial aid when entering the first year of Sanskrit. If not successful in the mathematics discipline course, try any other discipline course (INR 50 per month).
Subodh Chandra Amiya Banerjee Scholarship	To two meritorious and needy students whose parent’s income does not exceed Rs. 500 per month and who join first year (INR 50 per month each).
D.D. Kapoor Scholarship	To a student whose parent’s income does not exceed Rs. 500 per month and who joins first year of 20 Discipline Course in Economics (INR 100 per month).
Shri Balak Ram Scholarship	To a meritorious student whose parent’s income does not exceed Rs. 500 per month and who joins the first-year Discipline Course in Mathematics (INR 75 per month).
All India Entrance Scholarship	Fifty in number for three years of an Honours degree (INR 250 per month).
Pandit Man Mohan Dar Endowment Scholarship	To deserving or needy undergraduate students of B.A. Honours Sanskrit and Science subjects, viz. Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics (INR 100 per month).

Facilities

Miranda House facilities are present to make the learning experience smooth and hassle free for the students. The infrastructure present in Miranda House includes a hostel, auditorium, library, seminar hall, etc. Miranda House infrastructure like the auditorium, seminar hall, classrooms are equipped with the latest audio visual technology. Apart from this other Miranda House facilities include various sports facilities, medical facilities, etc. Laboratories of various departments are also part of Miranda House facilities. There are many laboratories which are equipped with the latest test and measurement equipment which caters to different departments.

Girls Hostel

An opportunity to reside in the Miranda House Hostel, which has been home to several famous and distinguished alumnae in their formative years, is indeed a privilege. In fact, Miranda House was a Residence before it became a college, hence the name Miranda House! The residence which has grown to be a premier college of the country was established in 1948 by the then vice-chancellor, Sir Maurice Gwyer; its foundation stone was laid by Lady Edwina Mountbatten on March 7 of the same year. The red brick building designed by the renowned architect Walter George is an architectural delight, laid out in an aesthetically designed quadrangle enclosing well-kept gardens, paced out by bottle palms. The long corridors, the dining hall with a high arched ceiling, and the stonework balconies add to its charm. Over the last few years, extensive restoration and refurbishment work has been undertaken to preserve the heritage and restore the grandeur of its red brick facade and unique interiors. A new hostel block has been added. It integrates well with the old Walter George construction adding to its beauty with equal grace. Located within the college campus, the residence opens on Chhatra Marg. The day to day functioning is taken care of by 2 Hostel Wardens. The hostel administrative team includes the Principal, the Vice-Principal, the Bursar, Teacher Representatives on the Hostel Committee, Resident Tutor (if any) and the Hostel Wardens.
Medical/Hospital

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.
Gym

The Sports Department has a Fitness Centre with Several Exercise machines, including treadmills, exercise bike, stepper, multigym, etc. This Facility is available for both faculty and student.
Library

The library is spread over 3 floors and it has a collection of nearly 1 lakh books. There is a digital resource centre with thirty networked computers with access to the internet, e-resources, etc.
Sports

Miranda House facilities include sports facilities which include a fitness centre and also outdoor courts are available for various sports. Students can also enroll in aerobics, yoga and taekwondo classes.
I.T Infrastructure

The college has excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.
Cafeteria

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.
Auditorium

The auditorium is a major part of Miranda House infrastructure. College auditorium is available for the students which can be booked for cultural activities.

Laboratories

Miranda House facilities include laboratories for various departments. The geography department has 3 well furnished labs. Instrumentation laboratory for chemical and biological sciences is set up as a central facility. The laboratories have the latest test and measurement equipment.

Miranda House Placements 2023 Quarterly report is released. According to the report, the participating batch received 69 offers as of now. Miranda House highest package stood at INR 21.5 LPA which was offered by DE Shaw. Till October, 2022, 12 recruiters actively participated in the placement drive.
