B.J.B Autonomous College is one of India’s top-rated colleges for B.A., B.Com, B.Sc., BBA, M.A., M.Com, MHMTT programs. The institute was established in 1957 and is located in Bhubaneswar, Orissa. As of now, the institute comprises a total of 9 specialization courses Personnel Management, Hindi, Statistics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Electronics, Bioinformatics while the number of seats available in the current scenario is 404. Additionally, the institute revolves around the Accounting and Commerce, Banking, Finance and Insurance, Business and Management Studies, Hospitality and Travel, Humanities and Social Sciences, IT and Software, Mass Communication and Media, Science, Teaching and Education studies stream and offers courses in full-time mode.

Admission to the regular Bachelor’s degree courses are based on the merit of the candidates in their qualifying examination. However, candidates applying for the self financing courses need to sit for an entrance test conducted by the college.

  • 3% of sanctioned strength shall be reserved for physically handicapped candidates
  • 2% of the seats sanctioned shall be reserved for the children of bonafide Burma Repatriates
  • 1% of sanctioned seats shall be reserved for the children / wife / husband of exservicemen
  • 1% of sanctioned seats shall be reserved for the children of Serving Defence Personnel
  • 1% of sanctioned seats shall be reserved for the children of Martyrs

• Boys Hostel

  The college has a Boys hostel for the general category as well as for SC/ST students which provides accommodations to the students.

• Girls Hostel

  The college has a Girl’s hostel for the general category as well as for SC/ST students which provides accommodations to the students.

• Library

  The college has a library facility for all students. Total Number of Books in the Library 63,521 Total Number of Periodicals 835 Average Number of Books per Student 24 Besides each Department of the College has a Seminar Library for which Books and Journals are procured every year for the use of students and teachers.

• Laboratories

  The College laboratories are well-equipped and adequate for the students.

• I.T Infrastructure

  The College Computer Centre has a total number of 8 P.Cs and 1 Printer. All the Computers in this Centre have a P-3/P-4 processor, 4- 40 GB Hard Disk, and 128 MB RAM. The operating system is Windows 98.

  The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.
