Assam University

Assam University is a significant college mounted by an act of Parliament in 1994. It has two campuses, placed in Silchar and Diphu. Assam University is NAAC-accredited with a Grade B. The teaching-cum-affiliating university has 16 colleges that offer guides throughout the fields of Humanities, Languages, Environmental Sciences, Information Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Law, Technology and Management Studies. There are 57 departments under these 16 schools. Assam University gives greater than eighty courses in Certifications, PG Diploma, Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and doctoral degrees.

Assam University, Silchar offers B.Tech, BPA, BVA, BA LLB, B.Pharm, B.Voc, Integrated B.Sc. – M.Sc. And Integrated B.Sc. – B.Ed. Direction at UG diploma. At PG degree, the college offers M.Tech, MBA, MA, M.Sc., M.Com, M.L.I.Sc, M.Ed., MVA, MSW and LLM. At Research level, M.Phil and Ph.D. Courses are provided by way of the university.  D.Litt., Diploma and Certificate publications are also furnished by using the college.

• For B.Tech, candidate must pass in 10+2 examination with PCM as subjects and minimum 60% marks.
• The university also offers B.Tech Lateral entry course for which candidate must pass in Diploma in Engineering.
• For 75% of the B.Tech seats, admission is on the basis of JEE Main score and for the rest of the seats, admission is given on the basis of UG entrance test conducted by the department.
• For UG courses, candidate must pass in 10+2 examination in relevant stream from recognized university.
• For UG and PG courses, admission is done on the basis of CUET (UG) and CUET (PG) exam scores respectively.
• For M.Tech, candidate must pass in B.Tech with relevant discipline from recognized university.
• For M.Tech, candidate with valid CUET (PG)/ GATE score is considered for admission.
• For MBA, candidate must pass in any Bachelor’s degree with minimum 60% marks from recognized university.
• Admission to MBA is done on the basis of CAT scores.
• Candidates not having CAT score card have to appear for Written Skill Assessment Test (WSAT) conducted by the Management Department.
• For other PG courses, candidate must pass in Bachelor’s degree in relevant field from recognized university.
• Applicants of research based courses of Ph.D and M.Phil must have done Postgraduation in the relevant field with at least 55% marks.
• Admission to the Ph.D and M.Phil courses is on the basis of Combined Research Entrance Test (CRET) conducted by the respective schools and interview.

During the Assam University BTech 2023, the last round closing rank ranged between 93317 and 525709, among which B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was the most competitive specialisation. The Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering were 37990 and 93317, respectively for the General All India category students. During Assam University cutoff 2022, the Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks were 36694 and 81716, respectively for the B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering programme. For the Home State category students, Assam University cutoff 2023 for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering for Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks were 71176 and 146897 respectively.

Analysing the latest year cutoff for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering with the previous year ranks, the institute witnessed a improving trend for both Round 1 and the Last Round for the B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering specialisation.
