Formerly known as the West Bengal University of Technology. MAKAUT is a public state university established by the Government of West Bengal in 2000. MAUKAT offers a total of 15 courses out of which 2 are UG courses, 12 are PG programmes and 1 doctoral programme. MAUKAT courses are offered across multiple streams like Engineering and Architecture, Computer Application and IT, Management and Business Administration and others. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAUKAT) has three schools through which the university offers courses namely School of Engineering & Technology (SET), School of Biotechnology & Biological Sciences (SBTBS) and School of Management.

The university is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a grade of ‘B++’ and recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). According to NIRF Ranking 2022, MAUKAT secured 70th position in Engineering and 20th in Architecture categories respectively. The university is spread across a total campus area of 20 acres. MAKAUT

Admission 2024 is now open. Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University of Technology Admission are based on university’s entrance examinations i.e. CET, JEMAT, GAT B & PGET. MAKAUT also accepts admissions based on scores in WBJEE, JECA, JEHOM, JELET for various programs. MAKAUT offers more than 100 courses in Engineering, Science, Management, Pharmacy, and Technology.

B.Tech & M.Tech are the flagship courses offered at MAKAUT West Bengal. Admission to B.Tech is offered based on rank secured in the WBJEE examination. The total course fee for B.Tech at MAKAUT ranges from INR 12,300 to INR 2,32,300. For MAKAUT M.Tech Biotechnology, the university accepts only GAT-B scores.

MAKAUT offers a wide range of courses at UG, PG & Ph.D. levels. It also offers diploma and certification courses as well. Some of the UG & PG courses offered at MAKAUT West Bengal include B.Tech, B.Sc, BBA, BCA, MBA, M.Tech, M.Sc etc.

MAKAUT Kolkata Facilities

There is a wide array of facilities provided by the university for the staff and students. MAKAUT facilities include hostels, libraries, sports facilities, medical facilities, laboratories and many more. The facilities provided by the university helps the students in experiencing a comfortable and enjoyable learning environment. MAKAUT facilities also include separate hostels for boys and girls. The university has banking and ATM facilities for the students and staff. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology campus facilities include the library which has a huge number of books and journals. MAKAUT sports facilities include facilities for tennis, football, badminton, basketball, and other games. The university also has a gym that caters to all the fitness needs of the students.

Boys Hostel

The university has a separate hostel for boys. MAKAUT hostel offers all the facilities to fulfil the basic requirements of students.

MAUKAT has a spacious and well-stocked library. The library has both e-resources and print resources. It has a total collection of 25965 books among which 10131 are e-books ,6000 ( approx.) e-journals 20 print journals including 4 foreign journals. The library also has a good collection of CDs, audio cassettes and DVDs. The library is now focusing on e-resources.
Sports

The university believes in the overall development of the students, for this MAKAUT provided sports facilities for indoor and outdoor games. The games department also has facilities for badminton, chess, handball, cricket, football, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, etc.
