Glocal University

Glocal University is a private institution established in 2011 and located in Uttar Pradesh. Glocal University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 22 of the UGC Act 1956 and established by the Glocal University Act, 2011. Glocal University is a member of AIU. It is approved by AICTE, Bar Council of India, Pharmacy Council of India and NCTE. The campus spreads across 350 acres and has state-of-the-art infrastructure, consisting of well-equipped classrooms, seminar halls, libraries, lecture halls, playgrounds and an amphitheatre.

Glocal University offers M.B.B.S., B.A.M.S., B.U.M.S., B.Tech, B.Sc. (Mathematics and Chemistry), B.B.A., B.Com (Hons.), B.A. + L.L.B., B.B.A.+ L.L.B., L.L.B., B.Sc. (Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry), B.A. (Mass Communication and Journalism), B.Ed., B.Pharm, D.Pharm, B.Sc. (Hons.) in four disciplines, M.Sc. in six streams and Ph.D. in different fields.

• The application process conducted by the university is both offline and online.
• To take admission in MBBS, the minimum eligibility criterion is to have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with 50% marks in PCB with English as compulsory subjects.
• For admission in B.A.M.S., candidate must have Sanskrit as a compulsory subject in metric and passed 10+2 from any recognized Board with Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Sanskrit as core subjects.
• For admission in B.U.M.S., Urdu is one of the compulsory subjects at 10^th level along with 10+2 passing certificate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
• The selection of candidates for MBBS, B.A.M.S. and B.U.M.S. is based on NEET/ CPMEE.
• Admission in Glocal University for all under-graduate course is based on Glocal Admission Test (GAT) and GSBC-PG for PG programs. However, for B.Tech scoring a rank in JEE Main is a must.
• Selection in Law programs is based on the score of CLAT/ LSAT with performance of the candidate in personal interview.
• The selection of candidates in B.Ed., B.Pharm. and D.Pharm. is based on the score of GAT.
• For M.Sc./ M.Tech/ MCA courses under different specializations, the candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in relevant field. Admission in these courses is merit based.

Glocal University Overall ranking by NIRF is 151-200 out of 200 colleges in India in 2022.

Facilities & Infrastructure

• Boys Hostel

  The university is equipped with fully furnished separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. The hostels are specially designed with two primary objectives of safety and comfort. It has round-the-clock security, with stringent security procedures and comfortable apartments that our students enjoy living in. The hostels have state-of-the-art washrooms (toilet and bathing cells). Cleanliness is maintained by the staff on duty. Each hostel room provides an amiable atmosphere and pollution-free environment, conducive to the mental, physical and spiritual development of the students and helps them become self-reliant. Each Hostel separate for boys in the university is self-contained with amenities such as a reading room, an indoor games room, a lounge and a dining hall with a mess. The deliberations of the Hostel are governed by the Hostel Committees which includes student representatives under the office of Chief Warden. Working through this responsible body, the committee members lay down appropriate norms of behavior to suit different situations and social occasions in the hostels including the norms for the dining hall.

• Girls Hostel

• Laboratories

  The university has a departmental-based laboratories facility for the students. The way you can’t learn to ride a bike by reading its manual, a professional is not completely ready without proper application of knowledge. Practical experiments and workshops are just as important as theoretical study; therefore we make sure that we provide our students with the best infrastructure and state-of-the-art laboratories that are well-stocked and equipped with the latest technology, to offer the aptest environment for learning.

• Medical/Hospital

  The University has started a full-fledged world-class 300-bed Multispecialty hospital with all modern medical facilities such as General Medicine, ICU, Trauma center, MRI, CT Scan, ECG, X-Ray and Laboratory Investigation. to provide immediate medical attention not only to the Students of the University but also to staff and other people from the locality. Glocal Hospital has tie-ups with the best hospitals in Saharanpur and Dehradun. First aid services are available in the various departments and labs in the University campus itself. Full-Time Medical officers are available on the Campus to take care of students.

• Library

  The University has a library facility for all students. The library is the central hub of the university, well-equipped to support and facilitate the teaching, learning, and research programs of the Institute. Well stocked with the latest books, CDs/DVDs, and research publications, the library at Glocal is open to all students, faculty members, and employees. The print collection includes books, monographs, research reports, law reports, and back volumes of periodicals, etc. In addition to professional reading, the library provides a good amount of leisure reading and books for soft skills development. All subjects related to the University’s academic and research programs have been included in the collection. The library is also developing a core collection of media resources comprising documentaries, training films, fiction, music, etc.

• Sports

  The University has sports facilities for all students. Sports play a pivotal role in shaping one’s personality and maintaining good health. We’ve specially developed a sports environment that matches international standards and gives a truly global experience for all our students. All of which is provided to them on the campus. proud to have quite a few state-level players who have played in the Nationals. One of our students was selected for the heats of a 5000-meter race in the Commonwealth Games. Another student has represented India in Basketball. We plan to arrange special coaching for them so that they make our nation proud.

• Gym

  The University has a Gym facility for the students. In order to ensure a sound body and mind, students are given special attention to health and fitness. A modern gym, with all the latest gadgets, has been set up in the hostel.

  The University has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

  The University has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

  The University has a parking space facility for its faculty, staff, and students.

• Transport Facility

  The University is nestled in the foothills of the Shivalik range, and well connected by roads from three major cities. In the north, it is connected with Paonta Sahib (HP) which is further linked to Jagadhari and Chandigarh by roads; towards the north, it is connected to Saharanpur (UP) which has a major railway station while towards the east it is connected to Dehradun (UK), the state capital of Uttarakhand. Glocal University provides transport facilities to its day scholars on nominal charges through its self-owned comfortable buses. The buses ply on different routes of the Saharanpur to pick and drop the students from various areas. The students are spared the difficulty of commuting to the University by public transport. This also contributes to inculcating an element of punctuality among the students. Keeping in mind the fact that University is situated in a remote place away from modern amenities, the university provides a bus facility every weekend to its students and staff to visit Dehradun, Saharanpur, or Ponta Sahib.

• Wifi

  The University has a dedicated Internet Leased line connected to all the terminals throughout the Campus. Students and faculty are free to access the internet. This helps the students to prepare papers on the latest technologies to be presented in various symposiums and seminars. Interested students who are willing to go abroad for further studies can take up tests such as GRE and TOEFL, take up an online mock test, and also browse through the websites of various universities and centers of higher education around the world. The access speed enables the Students and Staff to download and upload files at a fast rate.

• Alumni Associations

  The University has a good networking for the alumni association. This year marks the fifth year since Glocal University’s founding. As we approach the end of our fifth year in existence, we have many accomplishments to celebrate – the establishment of eight schools, 50 programs, a multiple interdisciplinary research center, and the expansion of campus facilities. However, our most important accomplishment is and will continue to be, the creation of a diverse and far-reaching university community of students and alumni. As of 2018, we have approximately 1000 alumni worldwide.

• Cafeteria

  The University has a hygienic, well-furnished, and well-equipped cafeteria is available on campus to provide food for the staff and students. The cafeteria remains open on all working days and offers an assortment of cuisines, both Indian and International.

• Auditorium

  The University has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

As per the available statistics on the website, more than 500 students were placed over 150 companies that visited the University campus during Glocal University placements. The highest package offered more than INR 18 LPA and the average package offered more than 4.5 LPA during Glocal University Saharanpur placements.

Similarly, the median package offered for PG (2-year) was INR 2.23 LPA during Glocal University Saharanpur placement 2021.
