University of Delhi, popularly known as Delhi University or DU is a public central university established in 1922. DU is recognised as an “Institute of Excellence” by the UGC and accredited by the NAAC with an ‘A+’ grade. Delhi University is ranked 11 and 22 under the ‘University’ and ‘Overall’ categories in NIRF Rankings 2023, respectively. Delhi University has two campuses – North and South. The north campus comprises 16 colleges, while the south campus has 25 colleges. DU admission 2024 for UG programmes is subject to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) exam conducted by NTA. Additionally, DU PG admission will be based on CUET-PG. Aspirants, willing to apply for Delhi University admission 2024 at more than 90 DU-affiliated colleges must register for CUET exams and appear for the same.
Those who qualify the entrance examination can then register on Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for seat allocation. Done in multiple rounds, seat allocation is based on multiple factors such as – the combination of college and selected course, the position of the candidate in the merit list, category (SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS/ UR) of the candidate, and availability of seats. The university offers over 50 courses at UG and PG levels in Management, Arts, Science and other streams through affiliated colleges. School of Open Learning, University of Delhi or DU SOL is the distance education platform offering courses at UG and PG levels.

For Delhi University admission, the university considers CUET for its UG courses, namely BA, BSc, BCom, BSc (Hons), BA (Hons and BCom (Hons). CUET stands for Common University Entrance Test, while CUCET stands for Central University Common Entrance Test. CUET is the revamped version of CUCET. Students must appear for the exam by taking their DU CUET admit card. DU admission process for UG or PG courses consists of six major steps which include registration for CUET UG or PG, appearance in the relevant exam, registration for DU CSAS, CSAS counselling process, merit list release and seat allocation. These are mentioned below in detail:
Step 1: DU CUET Registration 2024
DU University registrations via CUET usually commences in the last week of February 2024. CUET registration process commence online. Candidates willing to appear for CUET 2024 exam must ensure to fill out the application form online when released. Interested candidates were able to apply online on the official website of CUET UG and CUET PG.
Followed by the application forms of CUET UG and CUET PG, DU will begin the DU CSAS registration for final college and course allotment of students who qualify the exams. The process will begin after the release of CUET-UG and CUET-PG results which are expected to be released in July.
Step 2: Appear for the CUET exam
Candidates who have registered for CUET are required to appear for the exam in the subject of their choice and get a valid score. Common University Entrance Test also known as CUET UG is a national-level entrance exam is conducted in online mode.
Step 3: How to apply for DU UG CSAS?
Candidates can check the step-by-step process mentioned below:
Step 3.1: Visit the official CSAS portal of DU, i.e., https://ugadmission.uod.ac.in/ and register as a new user.
Step 3.2: Fill out the preferences of college and course combinations. This portal will be used until the admission process of the candidate is not completed.
Step 3.3: There is a one-time CSAS(UG)-2024 application fee that students are required to pay. This fee is non-refundable.

DU admission 2024 for UG courses is through Common Seat Allocation System of the University of Delhi. But, at first, it is necessary that aspirants opt for DU during CUET form filling and later apply on the CSAS portal to be eligible for admission. The admission process after CUET result declaration is explained below:
Step 4.1: After the declaration of the CUET UG exam, register on the DU CSAS portal in multiple phases. Submit College + Course combination preferences in the order of priority on the CSAS dashboard.
Step 4.2: The university releases DU CSAS Seat Allocation Lists for all categories.
Step 4.3: Once the candidate “Accept” the provisionally allocated seat, the concerned college will verify the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate online. The college has an option to ‘Accept’ or ‘Reject’ the admission of the student basis the verification.
Once the DU-affiliated college accords the approval, candidates will have to pay the ‘Admission Fee’ to confirm their seats.
DU cutoff 2023 has been released for all courses. Delhi University offers admission to UG and PG courses through affiliated colleges. The University accepts various entrance exams including CUET UG, CUET PG, NEET, NEET PG and NEET MDS. Candidates seeking admission to DU must have a valid score to meet the cutoffs. Delhi University CUET cut off is based on scores obtained by the candidates in the CUET exam. The University of Delhi releases the round-wise cutoffs on the official website at admission.uod.ac.in. Only candidates with a valid CUET score can apply for DU admissions.
