Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology (BUEST) is a private state university established under the Act No. 21 of 2009 of the Himachal Pradesh Government approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 22 & 2F of the UGC Act 1956. The campus of the varsity covers an area of 40 acres and it has 102 faculty members in total.

Baddi University offers admission to Diploma, UG, PG and Doctoral courses. Admission to various courses offered by Baddi University is done via merit of the last qualifying examination and also by marks obtained by candidates in the entrance examination. JEE Main and GATE marks are considered for B.Tech and M.Tech admissions respectively. BUEST accepts CAT, AIMAT and HPUMAT scores for MBA admissions. Other courses offered by Baddi University include B.Pharma, BHM, BCA, MCA, B.Com, M.Pharma, BBA and several others.

Candidates must check the eligibility criteria of the desired programme before applying for admission. A wide range of scholarships can be availed by the students of Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology. To ensure placement of students, the university has a placement cell. Baddi University has industrial ties to help students in finding jobs. Updated facilities and infrastructure are present at the campus of the varsity.

Admission Process

The university provides admission to diploma, UG, PG and doctoral programmes. Admission to the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) course is given based on the marks obtained by candidates in the JEE Main. BUEST admission to B.H.M, B.Sc., B.Com, B.Ed., B.Pharma. B.P.T. and B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture is done on the basis of state government entrance examination or BUEST entrance test.

The varsity offers merit based admission to B.C.A. programme. As per BUEST admission process, for M.B.A. admissions, CAT/AIMAT/HPU MAT are considered. Candidates need to appear for a personal interview and group discussion as well. The interested candidates can apply for Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology admission by filling the application form.

At the undergraduate level, Baddi University offers a total of 11 courses. A few of the courses offered at UG level are B.Tech, B.Sc, B.Pharma, BBA and so on. Only candidates who have passed 12th standard from a recognised board are eligible for admission. Given below are the details of Baddi University UG admissions 2024.

Scholarships

Scholarship 1 Scholarship on the basis of JEE mains score:

– Candidates scoring > 50 and < 75 will be given scholarship of 30% on full program
– Candidates scoring > 75 and < 100 will be given scholarship of 45% on full program
– Candidates scoring > 100 will be given scholarship of 70% on full program

Scholarship 2 Other Scholarships:

– University employees will be given 50% tuition fee concession for the full program till the employee continues to work
– Disabled Person will be given 50% tuition fee concession for the full program
– BPL will be given 20% tuition fee concession for the full program (Only if family income <=2.5 Lakhs per annum). Not applicable for B.Pharm, B.Sc. Nursing, M.Pharm. (Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology)
– Freedom Fighter Defence will be given 20% tuition fee concession for 1st year only
– Sibling will be given 50% tuition fee concession to that student whose fee is lower than the other one
– BUEST Student joining next higher degree in the university will be given 35% tuition fee concession for 1st year only. Not valid for M.Pharm. (Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology)
– Single Girl Child will be given 50% tuition fee concession for the full program (Not applicable for B.Pharm, B.Sc. Nursing, M.Pharm. Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology)
– Orphan Child will be given 50% tuition fee concession for the full program
– Covid victims will be given 30% tuition fee concession for the full program (Not applicable for B.Pharm, B.Sc. Nursing, M.Pharm. Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology)
– Sports scholarship will be given 50% tuition fee concession for the full program (Not applicable for B.Pharm, B.Sc. Nursing, M.Pharm. Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology)

Scholarship 3 Betiyon Ki Bari: (For 1st year only)

– Candidates scoring 70%< 80% will be given scholarship of 35%
– Candidates scoring 80%< 90% will be given scholarship of 45%
– Candidates scoring 90%< 95% will be given scholarship of 50%
– Candidates scoring 95%< 100% will be given scholarship of 100%

Scholarship 4 Scholarship for MBA, Executive MBA, B.Com., BBA and MBA+ are as follows:

– Candidates with 70% and above marks are offered a 15% concession in 1st year fees.
– Candidates with 80% and above marks are offered a 25% concession in 1st year fees.
– Candidates with 90% and above marks are offered a 50% concession in 1st year fees.
– Candidates with 95% and above marks are offered a 100% concession in 1st year fees.

Separate scheme for MAT or CAT-qualified candidates.

Library

Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology’s central library with rich collection of books, periodicals, back volumes of journals and CDs/DVDs, online access of e-resources along with library in each constituent college. The library has installed Open Source Software (OSS), KOHA library Management Solution & other software like Dspace/Greenstone for automation and digitization of its services.

Placements

Every year a large number of university’s students get placed in private and public organisations. The training & placement (T&P) cell of the varsity is responsible for conducting Baddi University placement drive smoothly. According to the 2023 placement record, 78 out of 191 UG graduates were placed in Baddi University placement 2022 while 46 out 85 PG students also received offers.

The aim of the T&P cell at Baddi University is to achieve maximum placements for students and for that purpose it also trains the students. Baddi University placement cell organises industrial visits to familiarise students with corporate work culture. To prepare students for Baddi University placement, various personality development programmes are also conducted by the T&P cell.

Soft skill training, behavioural training and aptitude training are provided to students. Every year various renowned companies like Wipro, TVS, Amazon, IBM and others participate in Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology placement and hire students.
