D A V College

Dayanand Anglo Vaidik Mahavidyalaya, also known as DAV college, was founded on 11th July, 1919. The institute has been awarded grade “B” by NAAC. Sustaining for over 100 years, DAV College has been progressing in terms of introducing well known courses and extracurricular activities over the time period.

The institution offers various UG and PG courses amongst which the popular are the B.A. and B.Sc courses. The admission procedure is generalized to merit basis for all courses barring a few exceptions that follow entrance examinations such as M.Com, B.Ed etc.

Courses & Fees

Dayanand Anglo Vaidik Mahavidyalaya was established on July 11, 1919 at Kanpur. All the courses are offered by the college are approved by CSJM University and are accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi.

The College offers Under Graduation through B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com. programs and Post-Graduation in M.A., M.Sc., and M.Com along with Research Programs (Ph.D.) in all specializations which are offered at the Master’s Level. It offers direct admission to the programs.

• Students applying for any of the course must visit DAV College, Kanpur campus to get the application form.
• Candidates applying in B.A., B.Com. and B.Sc. courses must have passed the 10+2 examination with at least 45% marks in qualifying exam.
• Applicants to M.A., and M.Com. courses are needed to clear Bachelor’s Degree with minimum of 45% marks in qualifying exam.
• Admission to M.Sc. course except the specialization in Statistics is based on the common entrance exam conducted by CSJM University.
• Selection of eligible candidates will be based on merit in the previous qualifying examination.
• Those who are seeking admission to B.Ed. program must clear 3-years bachelor’s examination to be eligible for admission.
• Admission to Ph.D. course is based on merit in Master’s or M.Phil. Degree courses followed by interview.
• Admission to SC/ST/OBC candidates is offered based on the reservation rules specified by the government.

Facilities & Infrastructure

• Girls Hostel

  The college has a girl’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

• Library

  The College has a collection of over 95,000 books and other reading materials. For organizing and maintaining its collection and catering to the service of its users, the library has sufficient by trained library staff.

• I.T Infrastructure

  The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

• Auditorium

  The college has a huge auditorium with a seating capacity of about eight hundred. The auditorium is among the best in the region. It serves as the hub for all academic deliberations and cultural activities in the college. The auditorium is divided into various parts: the main floor, the wings, the rear gallery, the balcony, and the antechambers. The British architectural excellence accords a very special aura to the auditorium.

• Laboratories

  The college has a number of well-equipped laboratories, which serve as a home to a number of highly sophisticated experimental research facilities. These research laboratories are designed to serve staff scientists, students as well as research scholars. The interdisciplinary composition of these labs makes it possible to study structures from a number of combined and integrated perspectives in an attempt to provide research and consultations towards new theories. • Sports

  The college offers student participation in a bundle of sports activities including swimming, Cricket, Basketball, Hockey,Volleyball,Athletics,Weight Lifting,Handball,football. The college has a huge sprawling lush green playground which is one of the best in the city and the region. There is also an indoor stadium for indoor games like Badminton, Table Tennis.

• Banks/ATMs

  The college has a college branch of the U.P. Co-operative Bank on the Campus. The Bank offers transaction facilities to the staff and students. The bank acts as the financial hub for the students who are eligible for scholarships and for all those who are bonafide students of the college.

• Gym

  The college has a Gym facility for all the students.

  The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
