Delhi Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (DIHM) is one of the most popular choices for students who want to pursue a career in the hospitality sector. It started functioning from a small portion of the polytechnic building in Kashmere Gate in 1983. Through constant upgradation and efforts, DIHM has become an autonomous public institute. It is affiliated to the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT).
Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology offers seven courses in total. This includes a degree course, one PG Diploma course, and five Trade Diploma courses. All the courses are offered in full-time mode. For Trade Diploma courses, the institute has a mandatory six-month training session that provides real-world exposure to the students. As an initiative to enhance the job opportunities for the students, the Delhi Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology also supports the ‘Hunar Se Rozgar’ initiative of the organising body. Students can enrol in these courses without any fee during their other academic courses. Admission to BSc is entrance-based. For all other courses, admission is merit-based.
Delhi Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Trade Diploma admission is done on the basis of merit obtained in the qualifying exam. DIHM cutoff 2023 for NCHMCT JEE was concluded after Round 4 counselling for admission to the BSc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration course. DIHM cutoff 2024 will be declared after the announcement of NCHMCT JEE result 2024. For the current academic year, the registration window is now closed for the NCHMCT JEE exam. Further, the NCHMCT JEE exam 2024 will be held on May 11, 2024.
DIHM Lajpat Nagar has not released the placement statistics on its official website. As per the Shiksha students’ reviews, 85% of students were placed in recent drives. Further, the highest package and lowest package stood at INR 10 LPA and INR 3 LPA, respectively. ITC Hotels, The Oberoi, and IHG Hotels & Resorts were some of the prominent recruiting companies during DIHM placements over the past few years.
