Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya formerly known as the University of Indore is accredited with A + Grade by NAAC. The DAVV Indore was established in 1964 by the Act of the Legislature of Madhya Pradesh. The university, through around 239 colleges and various schools of study, offers UG, PG, and other courses to students across Computer Engineering, Journalism, and various other streams. The university also provides open and distance learning courses to the students. Devi Ahilya University is approved by AICTE.
Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya is ranked 101-150 by the NIRF 2023 under the University (Overall) category. Located in Indore, DAVV has also started the Self-supporting courses in the country. Out of its 37 schools and centres of study, 20 schools are known to offer courses on a self-supporting basis. Every year, the university provides education to nearly 10,500 students enrolled in regular courses and nearly 1,000 students enrolled in distance education mode.
The university also provides one of the best facilities for undergraduate and postgraduate course students. It has more than 23,450 PhD theses, 6 lakh books, 8,965 e-books, and various e-journals on several subjects. Counselling, career guidance, and placement-related needs are fulfilled through the Career Counselling and Opportunities Guidance Cell, Placement Cells, Equal Opportunity Cell, and Alumni Cell. DAVV Indore campus gives the students access to all the facilities they required. All of these facilities are offered to students in order to give them a relaxing setting to study, which will aid in their overall personality development. Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya campus facilities include a library with a variety of technical and stream-related books, journals, magazines, etc.; separate hostels are available for boys and girls; a restaurant serves delectable snacks and meals; and more. An IT centre has been set up within the institution to support networking, internet services, and solutions for achieving teaching and research objectives. In addition to these, the university’s departments all include labs where students can get hands-on training.
