Guwahati University’s admission process is completely online and for a majority of its courses, it is subject to candidates’ performance in an entrance test conducted by the university. Guwahati University is a public state university that started with 18 affiliated colleges and 8 Post Graduate Departments in 1948. It offers UG, PG, diploma, certificate and doctoral courses via its departments and constituent colleges and 325 affiliated colleges. At the campus, the university offers only postgraduate courses while all the other UG, Diploma, Certificate and PhD courses are offered via its constituent and affiliated colleges. It also has an Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) to offer distance learning programmes to students.

Admission to Guwahati University is conducted online. Interested students need to visit the university’s official website for the same. Last year, the admission season for BTech and B.Ed started in July while the same for LLM started in November.
