The Indian Institute of Technology Sonepat, also known as IIIT Sonepat was established in 2014 as a joint venture of the Government of Haryana, the Ministry of Human Resource Development, and the Government of India, with industries present in the model, known as the public-private partnership model. National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra is the mentor institute of IIIT Sonipat. The institute has also signed MoUs with two institutes which include IIT Hyderabad and DTU. IIIT Sonepat offers BTech and PhD programmes to students across the Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology streams.
IIIT Sonepat admission to the courses is done on the basis of marks secured in JEE Main. Last year, the opening rank for B.Tech Computer Science & Engineering was 35674 and the closing rank was 39365. Graduates from the institute are placed in top-notch companies with an average salary package of INR 8-9 LPA.
