IIT Bhubaneswar is a public technical university established by the Government of India in 2008. The institute became the first among the eight new IITs with a NIRF ranking 47 in the engineering segment. IIT Bhubaneswar is located at Argul, in the Khordha district of Odisha. The institute offers around 51 courses; among them, BTech is offered as a flagship course with total fees of INR 10.79 Lakhs. JEE Advanced scores determine admission to the BTech program followed by JoSAA counselling. Also, the institute offers MTech and MSc programs, and admission is offered through the GATE and IIT JAM scores respectively.

For admission to the IITBBS flagship B.Tech program, applicants are required to secure a valid rank in JEE Advanced followed by JoSAA counseling. Allocation of seats is done online, based on the applicant’s rank in JEE Advanced examination, reservation criteria, availability of seats, and other factors. The total fee for the IIT Bhubaneswar BTech program is INR 10.79 Lakhs.

For admission to PG courses such as M.Tech and M.Sc at  IIT Bhubaneswar, candidates must appear in the GATE and IIT JAM entrance exam, respectively. Candidates qualified for the IIT Bhubaneswar M.Tech course through GATE score are required to participate in the COAP counseling for their final seat allotment.

IIT Bhubaneshwar JEE Advanced cutoff 2024 for CSE is 2372 – 3404 (Round 1) for general category students. 2372  is the opening rank and 3404 is the closing rank under Round 1. For the year 2023, the IIT Bhubaneswar BTech cutoff ranged from 2806-16386 ranks for the general category. Further, the BTech CSE cutoff of the institute remained the most competitive and closed at 2806 ranks in round 1 whereas in the final round, the closing cutoff remained at 3101 ranks.

The highest package stands at INR 64 LPA, the highest ever received at IIT BBS. The IIT Bhubaneswar average package for BTech and MTech is INR 17.16 LPA and INR 8.96 LPA, respectively. Further, over 13% of the placed students received packages above INR 25 LPA. D.E. Shaw, Flipkart, Microsoft, and many other leading companies have been part of IIT Bhubaneswar placements 2024.
