IIM Sambalpur, one of the newest IIMs, was established in 2015. It is one of the most prestigious institutes in the country. According to NIRF 2023, IIM Sambalpur is ranked 58 among the best Management institutes in India. The institute received a score of 50.90 by NIRF 2023. IIM Sambalpur has also been ranked 43 under the ‘MBA’ category by Business Today in 2023.

IIM Sambalpur MBA admission 2024 has started. Candidates interested in admission can apply through the official website. IIM Sambalpur MBA admission is based on national-level entrance exams like CAT and GMAT, followed by a personal interview round. The flagship course offered by IIM Sambalpur is MBA to which the institute accepts CAT scores for domestic admission and GMAT scores for international admission. Other courses offered by IIM Sambalpur include PGP, Executive MBA/ PGDM, and EFPM.

Even though candidates are shortlisted for IIM Sambalpur admission based on CAT & GMAT scores, other factors such as scholastic achievement, gender, and relevant work experience are taken into consideration. Following the CAT/GMAT, a PI round is conducted which is composed of online personal interviews. Following that, the final selection list is based on the CAT score, the PI score, and the Profile score including the work experience score as assessed during the PI process, the score for past academic performance, and any other criterion included.

The institute was placed 58th among the top management institutes in India. IIM Sambalpur has stood at 37th place in IIRF rankings 2024. IIM Sambalpur has been ranked 43rd by Business Today Ranking 2023.

  The college has two boys hostels at the campus. The rooms of hostels are well ventilated and allotted to students on twin sharing basis. Each hostel has a common room with TV and table tennis facility for the recreational needs of students.

IIM Sambalpur Placement 2023 has been released by the institute. Each year students get placed in some of the top companies with excellent placement salary packages. This year more than 130 organizations, including well-known recruiters like Microsoft, Vedanta, Tolaram, Amul, Adani, EY, Accenture, Cognizant, Deloitte, and Amazon, visited the IIM Sambalpur campus this season.

The highest annual CTC offered this season was Rs 64.61 LPA (domestic) and Rs 64.15 LPA (international). For the MBA batch 2021-2023, the average salary package is Rs 16.64 LPA and the median salary is Rs 16 LPA. Female students, on the other hand, earn an average of Rs 18.25 LPA. The top 10% of the batch earns an average of Rs. 31.69 LPA. IIM Sambalpur has achieved new norms and surpassed its prior placement records, with a more than 30% rise in the number of organizations visited for recruitment.
