Institute of Hotel Management, Bangalore, (IHM Bangalore), established in 1969, has been consistently among the top-5 Hotel Management Institutes in India voted by ranking agencies of the country. The institute offers B.Sc and M.Sc programs in various disciplines. Additionally, it also offers Certificate courses in Food Production and Patisserie and Food & Beverage Service.
Giants of Hospitality sectors like ITC, Marriot, Hyatt, Hilton, Inland cruises have visited the college as part of their campus drive for recruiting the students. Admissions are offered on the basis of national level entrance exam NCHMCT JEE. Last year, which is in 2019, the cut-off NCHMCT JEE opened at rank 915 and closed at rank 1505 for general category students.

Students taking admission in the IHM Bangalore campus are facilitated with various facilities. IHM Bangalore is equipped with both practical and theoretical infrastructure. The institute aims on teaching the students with new methods and up to date technologies in the college premises. Some of the facilities at the college premises consist of the following.
BTK:Â Basic Training Kitchen is the practical lab for 1st-year students where they can learn the basics of cookery.
QTK:Â Quantity Training Kitchen is the practical lab for 2nd-year students where they can learn cooking in bulk.
ATK:Â Advance Training Kitchen is the practical lab for 3rd-year students where they can learn the fine art of cooking and presentation of international cuisine.
CCK:Â Craft course and CBSP Kitchen
Vegetarian Kitchen:Â The kitchen exclusively dedicated to the learning of vegetarian food.
Training Restaurants:Â The institute owns a well-equipped restaurant and bar, where students are given hands-on experience of food and beverage service.
The college has all the food production labs that are fully equipped with indigenous and imported equipment.
The campus is equipped with 30 terminals on a Local Area Network with the latest multi-media systems with Internet connectivity. Students have hands-on experience with HMS and application packages.
It contains a collection of 7000 books and above. Besides that, the library also has a collection of journals, magazines, and newsletters. The library allows the students to enhance their knowledge.
The border will be required to occupy the hostel seat granted for a minimum period of 12 months of his course, and will not request to vacate the same before completion of the said period, until and unless so advised by an authority. Allotment of rooms may not necessarily be of one’s choice. It is the sole discretion of the administration, which may allow the rooms/beds either on a first come first serve basis or any other basis, intentionally placing students of varying academic, cultural, social, and national backgrounds together so that cross-cultural, academic, social, and national learning is achieved. Rooms once allotted will not be changed without any genuine and acceptable reason. Each hostile is responsible for his/her personal belongings. It is advisable not to keep valuable and costly items in the room, and money should be deposited in the nearest bank. Institute/Hostel authority is not responsible for any kind of theft or misplacement of things.

Institute of Hotel Management Bangalore has a placement cell that conducts and controls the placement process in the campus. The cell invites various reputed companies and hotels to the campus to recruit the best of the candidates to work with them. Through IHM Bangalore placement process, students are recruited to companies like Accor. Air INdia, BMI, Hyatt, ITC and many more with a handsome salary package.
As per the IHM Bangalore placement 2022-23 data, a total of 434 students were placed. The highest salary offered was Rs 5.07 LPA while the lowest salary package offered was Rs 1.80 LPA.
