JNU admission 2024Â is currently open. Jawaharlal Nehru University comprises nearly 20 schools and centres of study offering over 100 courses with a wide range of specialisations. These courses are offered in various streams such as Arts, Technology, Management, Science, etc, at UG, PG and doctorate levels.
Jawaharlal Nehru University course admissions are entrance-based. Apart from CUET-UG, the university also accepts JEE Main scores for admitting students to BTech courses. JNU MBA admission is based on the CAT score, conducted by IIMs. It also accepts CUET-PG scores for admission to MA, MSc, MCA, MPH, MTech, Post Graduate Diploma, and Advanced Diploma courses. For JNU admission 2024 to MSc in Biotechnology and MSc in Computational Biology Programme, shall be through GAT-B scores.
JNU accepts CUET-UG for admission to UG programmes. The exam is scheduled to be conducted between May 15 and May 24, 2024. CUET-PG applications are currently open at JNU. Candidates with a valid CUET-PG score can apply for admissions at JNU till May 27, 2024.

JNU admission process is entrance-based. From 2022, admission to various UG and PG courses is through CUET-UG and CUET-PG, respectively, at JNU. The selection criteria vary from one course to another. Details about each of the stages in the admission process are provided below:
STEP 1: JNU Application Process 2024
The online registration is the first step of the JNU course admission. Eligible candidates can apply through the JNU official website (jnu.ac.in). Candidates applying to courses through CUET should have selected JNU as a preference during the CUET application process. Moreover, aspirants shall keep them updated with the important dates to avoid missing out JNU application deadline.
STEP 2: Selection Rounds/Release of Selection List
After the conclusion of the application process, the candidates are shortlisted based on the respective entrance exam scores (for MBA & BTech). These shortlisted candidates are then required to take part in the selection rounds, such as group discussions and personal interview rounds, after which a final list is released. For admission through CUET, the university will release a merit list or cutoff.
STEP 3: Counselling
Selected candidates have to participate in the JNU counselling for course admission (Except for MBA). During the counselling, verification and seat allotment is carried out.
STEP 4: Admission Confirmation
In the last step, selected candidates may have to go through a document verification round. Following this, the candidates can be asked to pay some amount of the fees in order to confirm their seat.
What is the JNU CUET Counselling Process 2024?
Candidates who appeared for CUET-UG can apply for JNU UG & Certificate of Proficiency (COP) courses. Some of the courses for which CUET score is accepted are BA (H) in Foreign Languages, BSc-MSc integrated course in Ayurveda, and COP programmes. Admission is granted to the JNU School of Language, Literature & Cultural Studies and to the School of Sanskrit & Indic Studies. Aspirants must meet course-specific eligibility criteria. Selection is based on CUET score and deprivation points. Moreover, the steps involved in the JNU admission process through CUET are explained below:
STEP 1: Visit the JNU official website (jnu.ac.in) to register and create login credentials.
STEP 2: Login with the ID and password to start filling out the application form, and document upload. Candidates may have to upload their CUET scorecard as well.
STEP 3: Check the details carefully and submit the form.
STEP 4: After the conclusion of the registration process, merit lists are released, which can be checked online by entering the application number and password.
STEP 5: Selected candidates can confirm their seats by paying the required fee or as directed by the university.

The documents to be submitted (in original) at the admission counter in an envelope during registration/admission are as follows:
JNU accepts CUET PG scores for admission to MA, MSc, MCA, MTech, MPH, PG Diploma, Advanced Diploma in Mass Media and Diploma of Proficiency courses. The university releases the merit lists for candidates who qualify for the cutoff. As per JNU cutoff 2023, the Round 1 closing score for M.A. in Arabic is 94.33, the highest score of all the PG courses. The next highest score was 93 for M.A. in Sanskrit, followed by M.A. in Urdu at 86.66 for the General category students belonging to All India Quota. Candidates aspiring for JNU admission 2024 to PG courses, must have a valid score in CUET PG. JNU is a Public university and it offers many scholarships and concessions to its students. The university aims to make education accessible to students who belong to the weaker sections of society, financially weak families, and, those who perform exceptionally well in their academics. Below we enlist the scholarships offered by JNU:
The Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship
JNU provides many scholarships for deserving students who perform well in their academics. The criteria for this scholarship say that the student’s guardian’s or parent’s income should not exceed Rs 2,50,000 per annum. This limit may also be changed by the university from time to time. Moreover, this scholarship is subject to the condition of the rules in the Jawahar Lal Nehru University regarding the scholarships. Students will have to fill out a JNU scholarship claim form to apply for this scholarship which is available on the official website of JNU.
Ford Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship is for the students of MA in International Studies. The amount of this concession is Rs 700 per month. Another condition is that half of these scholarships will be awarded to female students. This scholarship is provided purely on a merit basis.
Prof Ramesha Rao Scholarship and Travel Grant
This is a special Jawaharlal Nehru University scholarship. Late Prof Ramesha Rao’s wife, Mrs K Sudha Rao had donated a sum of Rs 10,00,000 to the School of Life Sciences. This scholarship is for students who score the highest marks in Cancer Biology. This concession is for Rs 3000 per month for 10 months for one year. Along with this, a travel grant of Rs 30,000 is given to an M.Phil or PhD student if they successfully present an International Paper on Cancer Biology.
Prof Nurul Hasan ScholarshipÂ
Under this, 2 scholarships of Rs 15,00 per month are provided for a period of one month. This is for the 2nd year students of MA, MCA, and M.Sc who score the highest CGPA in their first year.
Tendulkar Scholarship
An amount of Rs 400 is provided for a period of 2 years to 2 students from the School of Social Sciences.
Prof MJK Thavaraj MCM Scholarship
This is one of the JNU scholarships for PG studentsawarded to students of MA (Economics) in their first year. Two scholarships worth Rs 300 per month and Rs 2000 per month are awarded to students purely on a merit basis.
Jawahar Bhawan Trust Scholarship
Scholarships amounting to Rs 1,000 per month are awarded to 10 students for one year. This may also be renewed if the students maintain a CGPA of at least 5.5 in the next semesters. This is for MA, M.Sc, and, MCA students.
DS Gardi Sanskrit Scholarship
This is also in the category of JNU scholarship for PG students. On the basis of their performance in their first semesters, students of MA in Sanskrit are awarded this scholarship on an annual basis by JNU Delhi.
Prof Gouri Shankar Singhal Merit Scholarship
The student of M.Sc 2nd year, who scored the highest CGPA in their third semester are provided with an amount of Rs 1000 per month on the basis of their merit and then on their need.

Jawaharlal Nehru University placement 2023 reports have not yet been published by the authorities. However, the data released by NIRF 2023 report, the median package provided during the JNU placements in 2022 for UG 3-year courses was Rs 6 LPA. Additionally, the median salary package for PG 2-year courses was Rs 7.95 LPA. In addition, 332 students were chosen to continue their education while 21 students in total were placed out of 353 candidates. In comparison to 2021, there was a little decrease of almost 1% in the PG 2-year median package offered in 2022. The 2023 JNU Placement Report is not made public. However, the important highlights of JNU Delhi placements in 2022 as opposed to 2021 are reported in the general NIRF report 2023 for the university.
