Lady Shri Ram College (LSR) is a leading women’s higher education institute in India. The college was established by the late Sir Shri Ram in New Delhi in 1956 in memory of his wife and hence the name Lady Shri Ram. With 243 students, 9 teachers, 4 support staff, and three different courses of study, the college began in a school building in Daryaganj, Central Delhi. The institution’s goal was to ensure that women could receive a high-quality education. The college is also ranked 2nd as per the NIRF ranking for college 2021.

LSR is located in a massive 15 acre campus in South Delhi with a total strength of approximately 3270 students. LSR has over 98 faculties and 16 academic departments. Under the inspirational Chairmanship of late Dr. Bharat Ram, an industrialist and philanthropist, the college reverberates with academic and extracurricular achievement.

LSR is dedicated to fostering and developing women who are prepared to be global citizens: women who are proud of their culture and heritage while still having a cosmopolitan view of today’s environment and a sensibility that embraces diversity in all of its joyful vibrancy. Women who receive an education at LSR are able to balance excellence with humanity, celebrate diversity, and redefine success. The focus is on pedagogy that is liberating. The mission of LSR is to empower students to assume leadership quality, to make them a critical and concerned citizen and to provide a context of learning that enhances professionalism, humanism and social responsibility, to bring new insights to the field of knowledge and to improve access and inclusivity in high-quality education.
