A small-town girl who had never been away from her home before came to a place that is more than 1000 km away from her place.
Arriving at campus for the first time was a rollercoaster of emotions. I felt homesick but excited too. Meeting new people was both strange and cool. Some of them became my best friends, which is important in MBA. After that, we embarked on our 10-day induction program, a golden opportunity to engage in meaningful interactions and expand our social circles.
Why Nirma University?
Picking this college wasn’t just about the cool name or how much it pays off in the future. It’s about jumping into a bunch of clubs and groups – like over 20 of them – and adding some fun competition to our days. Plus, let’s talk about Ahmedabad. It’s not just safe; it’s like the perfect mix of cozy and happening. It’s where I feel at home. And the cultural scene here? It’s like being in a never-ending party where every festival is just a blast!
A Day at NIRMA University
Our typical day starts bright and early at 8:00 am with a quick breakfast before diving into classes. Usually, we have lectures from 8:45 am to 12:00 pm, though sometimes they stretch from 9:45 am to 1:00 pm. The evenings are reserved for elective classes, typically running from 6:30 pm or 7:30 pm till 8:30 pm. But the real action begins after class wraps up. It’s a mad rush of presentations, group projects, research dives, and tackling assignments.
Yet, amidst the academic chaos, we always find time to unwind and bond at our favorite hangout spots like the yellow light area and the BBA lawn. These places aren’t just for meals; they’re hubs of memories in the making. We swap stories, let off steam, mark birthdays with flair, and even break into spontaneous song sessions. These spots aren’t just corners of our campus; they’re our sanctuary, where friendships flourish and unforgettable moments are born.
After settling in for a couple of weeks, the buzz for club committee interviews kicked off, and I managed to snag a spot in one of the clubs at IMNU. Being part of the team was exhilarating.

Clubs and committees orchestrated events that left a lasting impression. From the vibrant celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi to the lively Garba nights during Navratri, our campus was alive with tradition and festivity. And then came the highlight – our electrifying Halloween DJ party, a blend of spooky thrills and pulsating beats. Each event felt like a family affair, where we came together to revel in the spirit of every festival and occasion. It wasn’t just about the festivities; it was about the bonds we forged and the memories we created as a tight-knit community.
But hold up, life isn’t always rainbows and butterflies.
The first semester flew by like a rollercoaster ride, leaving me spinning with quizzes, assignments, midterms, and finals. It all seemed like a blur, a fast-paced whirlwind that I barely had time to catch my breath in. And just when I started to find my rhythm, the second semester hit me like a ton of bricks. It was one of the toughest times I’ve faced yet –
overwhelmed, stressed, and constantly feeling the weight of expectations looming over me. As if that wasn’t enough, the pressure intensified with the onset of the summer internship hunt. The struggle is real when you see your peers’ landing placements while you’re still waiting for that golden opportunity, especially in a recession-hit job market It’s a battle we’re all fighting now, trying to navigate through the stormy seas of academia and emerge stronger on the other side.
After all the ups and downs, I realize this is my dream life. Despite the challenges, I know these are the best years. The memories I’m making with friends will be cherished long after graduation. So, I’m soaking up every moment, forging bonds, and honing skills. This journey is fleeting, but the experiences will last a lifetime.
