National Institute of Technology (NIT) Surathkal, also known as NITK Surathkal offers a UG programme in the fields of Engineering and Technology. Established in the year 1960, NITK offers PG and doctoral-level programmes in the fields of Engineering, Management, and Science. The institute has 13 departments, 1 School, and 12 supporting Centres. NIT Surathkal ranks 12 and 38 under the ‘Engineering’ and ‘Overall’ categories by the NIRF 2023 Rankings. In addition, in the QS World University Rankings 2024, it has been ranked 125th in Southern Asia. NITK has also signed MoUs with NIT Andhra Pradesh, NIT Warangal, NIT Calicut, NIT Puducherry, GEC Thrissur, and GCT Coimbatore to facilitate research projects and works.

The NIT Surathkal cutoff 2023 was recorded to be the most competitive for the Computer Science and Engineering specialisation. However, the cutoff declined in comparison to the past two years’ data: 2302 in 2023, 1754 in 2022, and 1117 in 2021. Moreover, the highest and average package offered during the NIT Surathkal placements 2023 stood at INR 54.75 LPA and INR 18.26 LPA.
