Seth Anandram Jaipuria College is a liberal arts college Established in 1945 in Kolkata. Affiliated to the Calcutta University, the college offers courses in streams of Arts, Commerce and Science. The College runs in three shifts wherein the Day shift is for co-ed, morning Shift is exclusively meant for girls and the Evening Shift is for boys. The College has also introduced various new subjects including Electronics, Computer Science, Journalism and Mass Communication Food & Nutrition & Psychology etc. in the recent years.The college offers various courses in Arts and Commerce streams including B.Com honours as well as Bachelor of Arts in Bengali, Hindi, English, History, Education, Philosophy, Political Science, Phycology and Food & Nutrition. B.A is a three years’ course wherein students can opt for any of the subjects in humanities and social science streams.
SAJ College offers reservation for S.C, S.T, OBC-A and OBC-B candidates in each subject as per university and government rules/regulations. 22% seats are reserved for SC candidates, ST candidates are given 6% seats, 3% of total seats are reserved for PC and OBC-A and OBC B have 10% and 7% seats reserved for them respectively. It should be noted that SC/ST candidates from states outside West Bengal are not entitled to any reservations, and the college treats them as candidates of general category.
