Sastra University Admission for the M.Tech course is ongoing. The University offers UG, PG and PhD programs in the disciplines of Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Paramedical Science, Management, Law and Fine Arts. University Dean’s Merit Scholarship

Under SASTRA University Dean’s Merit Scholarship, a two-fifth and one-fifth concession in semester fees is given to a student who is amongst the top 3% and 3% – 10% respectively in his class.

University Hostel Scholarship

SASTRA University offers scholarships amounting to INR 16,000 as Hostel Scholarships. To avail of this scholarship, minimum class attendance should be 90% with no indiscipline records. A minimum CGPA of 7.5% should be maintained. Payment of every semester fee without fines is mandatory.

University TATA Housing Scholarship for Civil Engineering Students

Candidates enrolling in B.Arch, B.E Civil engineering and MBA can avail SASTRA University TATA Housing Scholarship for Civil Engineering Students. Under this scholarship scheme, INR 60,000 per year is granted to students.

Shanmugha Arts Science Technology Research and Academy (SASTRA University), Thanjavur provides immense infrastructural support along with study support to the students enrolled in the academic year. SASTRA University facilities are diverse mainly in the cafeteria, library, hostels, sports complex, etc that can be accessed by the students anytime they want to within the particular campus. The candidate needs to follow the structural framework in order to get access to these SASTRA University facilities, which are mainly designed for their convenience and to give them wide opportunities to carry out their hobbies too along with their studies.

Single Room / 2-in-1 / 3-in-1 / 4-in-1 The hostels provide a salubrious ambience and a feel-good climate and are equipped with all amenities for living, dining and recreation that makes each inmate feel at home. They provide a right atmosphere for intellectual stimulation and balanced growth. SASTRA has always believed in catering to the palate and providing wholesome and balanced nutrition in a hygienic environment. A completely balanced vegetarian diet is served in all hostels equipped with steam-cooking facilities. There is also North Indian Cuisine in addition to the South Indian culinary delights. 370 Mbps Wi-Fi is available to all the inmates of the hostels. A well furnished guest house with adquate number of A/C and non-A/C rooms is available for visitors on prior request and subject to availability.

The SASTRA University Central Library has around 1,02,600 books and conforms to 290 journals and magazines in fields such as management, architecture, and law. It also has over 35 web publication databases that it subscribes to. About 18,000 Springer ebooks on a variety of topics have been downloaded by the library. The library’s transfers are completely programmed, and automation encompasses the entire library’s operations.

Indian overseas bank’s two branches are available within the SASTRA University campus that can be accessed any time in a whole day and the postal services are available within the campus by the department of post and telegraph.

Club

The various Student’s Clubs of SASTRA – Auto Club, Literary Club, Oratory and Debating Club, Fine Arts Club, JAM Club, Quiz Club, etc. conduct weekly meetings to bring out and develop the latent talents of the students by giving them focused training and practice in the respective fields.

The Athenaeum and the None such Club of the School of Humanities & Sciences organized quite a number of meetings to hone the communication skills of the students especially the freshmen. These clubs have helped SASTRA secure honours in various inter-college cultural competitions like SAARANG, FESTEMBER, RIVERA, etc.

DAKSH & KURUKSASTRA are SASTRA’s National Level Annual Technical and Cultural festivals respectively and is conducted by the various student clubs and associations with fanfare.

COLOSSEUM & FUERA are SASTRA’s inter and intra college sports competitions.

Youth Parliament

The final round of the National Level competition of the Sixth National Youth Parliament competition conducted by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, New Delhi was held at SASTRA premises. The debate this time focused on issues of social and economic concerns like ground water pollution, India’s stand at the WTO, Common Civil Code, Terrorism, etc. All students excelled in their performances based on an extensively researched script. Seven students have been selected to witness a live parliament session.

The Shanmugdha Arts Science and Technology and Research Academy (Deemed to be University) placement report 2024 is yet to be released. However. the NIRF report 2024 has been released. As per the report, 1,617 BTech, 79 MTech, and 135 BA LLB/ BCom LLB/ BBA LLB students were placed during SASTRA University placements 2023. The median package offered to BA LLB/ BCom LLB/ BBA LLB students was INR 4.60 LPA. For BTech and MTech courses, the median package stood at INR 7.60 LPA and INR 5.50 LPA, respectively.
